Savour the International Delight
Hello all you wonderful home cooks! I’m here again with another delightful recipe that will surprise your family and guests. Today on 🌐Amazecooking, we are going to dive into the wonderful world of Chicken Dunuts! Yes, you read that correctly. Chicken Donuts, a favorite international dish, are incredibly tasty and can be customized with a variety of flavors.
Spice Up Your Chicken Donuts
If you are a fan of aromatic herbs, you can incorporate some dried parsley and dill into the mix. For our Chicken Donuts recipe, we will be using a medley of spices and flavorings, creating a delightful taste experience. However, if you’re not a fan of too much heat, you can opt to remove the hot green pepper.
Variety Is the Spice of Life
For all you chicken lovers out there, we have three exciting and diverse suggestions. We recommend trying 🟡Akbar Joojeh, 🟠Persian Ground Chicken Kebab, and 🔴Chicken Nuggets alongside our star dish, the Chicken Doonuts.
- 500 grams of chicken breast
- 1 hot green pepper
- 3 garlic cloves
- 1 medium onion
- 2 tablespoons bread crumbs
- 2 slices of bread
- 25 grams parsley
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup bread crumbs
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon black pepper
- Let's start with our chicken breast, cutting it into small pieces and putting them into a food processor. Remember, our chicken should be free of skin and bones. We then split open the hot green pepper, remove its seeds, and add it to the processor.
- We'll peel the garlic and onions, cut the onion into smaller pieces, and add both to the processor. Discard the dry edges of the bread slices, then add them to the processor along with bread crumbs, parsley, salt, black pepper, paprika, and nutmeg. We then mix all the ingredients until we have a consistent dough.
- Next, line a tray with parchment paper. Place a bowl of warm water within reach, wet our hands, and take a small amount of dough and shape it into a donut before placing it on the paper.
- Once we've shaped all the dough into donuts, the tray goes into the freezer so the donuts can rest for 30 minutes.
- We crack the eggs into a bowl, add salt and black pepper, and mix well with a fork. Pour the all-purpose flour and bread crumbs into separate bowls. For an extra crunch, we're using coarse bread crumbs.
- After 30 minutes, we remove the donuts from the freezer. Place a deep, small pan over heat and pour in a cup of oil. Once the oil is hot, we roll the donuts first in the all-purpose flour, then the egg, and finally the bread crumbs until fully covered, then place them into the hot oil.
- We wait patiently until one side of the donuts turns golden, then flip them over to cook the other. Once perfectly fried, we remove the donuts from the oil and place them onto paper towels to absorb the excess oil. We then serve these golden delights with ketchup.
Adapting Your Recipe to Your Pantry
If you don’t happen to have chicken breasts on hand, you can still create this delightful dish using other parts of the chicken. Feel free to substitute the chicken breasts with other cuts such as thighs or fillets. Just remember to take a few extra minutes to remove any surplus parts like bones and skin before you start. It might be a small step, but it’s a crucial one to ensure a smooth and even texture for your donuts.
